La Vuelta a España 2026
September 12
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the province of Granada will take centre stage in La Vuelta a España with one of the most demanding and spectacular stages of the race: a mountain stage finishing at Collado del Alguacil, in the heart of Sierra Nevada.
Stage route:The stage will start in La Calahorra, at the foothills of the Marquesado del Zenete, and will cross several areas of the province before entering Sierra Nevada, where the riders will face the decisive final climb to Collado del Alguacil.
This will be a summit finish, one of the toughest of the entire edition, and it could play a key role in the overall classification of the race.
Collado del Alguacil, the main highlight
This climb is well known among local cyclists and mountain biking enthusiasts. It stands out for:

Its steep gradients in the final kilometres.

The high-mountain natural surroundings, offering spectacular landscapes.

The altitude, which adds an extra level of difficulty for the riders.
As it is not a regular climb in La Vuelta, it represents a true novelty and one of the major attractions of this edition.
A unique opportunity to enjoy top-level cycling

Silleta del Padul
Route ideas
One of the most striking rock formations that you can visit near Granada is Piedra Ventana, a large rock arch that opens out over the Padul Valley with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada. This route we propose passes through Piedra Ventana and the Silleta del Padul, a peak very characteristic for its saddle-like shape, with two peaks separated by a col. It dominates the Sierra del Manar and offers excellent views of the plain of Padul, the Vega de Granada and the Sierra Nevada, with the Alayos, the Corazón de la Sandía and the Trevenque in front. It is one of the most beautiful routes in the mid-mountains of Granada.
MapLos Cahorros
Route Ideas
Los Cahorros, a route for the whole family, different, in an extraordinary enclave.
The route is located in Monachil. It passes through waterfalls, rocks eroded by the passage of the Monachil river, suspension bridge, caves and spectacular views of the riverbank.
You can park your car in the car park on the Carretera de El Purche.
The route is circular, but the last section is a bit more complicated, so it can be done both ways.
Nature, culture and sports
In a truly unique setting, the campsite becomes the perfect starting point for unforgettable experiences: strolling through the streets of Granada (15 km), marveling at the Alhambra (12 km), breathing fresh mountain air in Sierra Nevada (27 km), travelling back in time in Guadix (65 km) or enjoying the sea in Tropical coast (75 km). And just 1.5 km away, the charming village of Güéjar Sierra awaits you with its traditional character.
Camping and caravanning
Located at an altitude of 1,100m. Tranquillity, space, views and everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Spacious plots (70 to 90m2), separated from each other by natural hedges and most of them with plenty of shade from trees such as olive, walnut, poplar, holm oak and oak. With 10 amp electricity socket on each plot.
Bungalows
Bungalows from 9 to 23m2, with one or two bedrooms and for a maximum of 5 people. Made of wood or prefabricated material. They have bathroom, heating, air conditioning, sheets, towels and kitchen (except bungalow for two people).
Pets are not allowed.
